Introduction of Drilling Fluids Desilter

Desilter is the third phase solids control equipment to treat the drilling fluids, and improve the performance of drilling mud, can combined with desander cleaner. The most common cone is ”4 or 5” , mainly separate size of 15-47μm solids particles out from drilling fluids. The desilter is mainly combined by shale shaker, shunt manifold and swirler, it is the third class solid control equipment in the whole mud cleaning system.



The desilter has high separation capacity, the separation range is large. The bottom flow hole is like a pressure umbrella, discharge the particles in the separation area quickly and decrease the probability of blocking of bottom flow hole. The advanced small shale shaker with two shaker screens has a large handling capacity and little noise. The life of shaker screen is long. The symmetrical mud inlet structure is favorable for the separation of swirler and stable work.

The desilter is designed according to the settlement principle of the sand particles. The drilling fluid to be cleaned flows into the swirler through the wall spiral under the pressure of centrifuge pump. The big particles will sink along the wall of swirler under the gravity and centrifugal force, then be discharged from the bottom flow hole and landed on the shake shaker with fine screen to be separated, the other medium will rise along the spiral of swirler.

How Dose BWCSQ2S Oilfield Desander Work?

The Oilfield Desander the two-level solids control equipment used for drilling fluid treatment. It is also called drilling mud desander, drilling fluids desander, hydrocyclone desander.

Oilfield Desander is mainly used for separating those solid particles with the granularity of 47 to 76 microns in the drilling fluid. Oilfield Desander is made up of the screening system, the adjusting and supporting system, the aqueduct, the foundation, the pressure gauge as well as the Oilfield Desander.

The Oilfield Desander is operated in accordance with the principle of centrifugal separation. Since the water inlet tube is installed at the eccentric position of the cylinder, the water will first form into the downward inclined fluid along the tangent direction of the cylinder when it enters into the inlet tube through the Oilfield Desander. The water flow will go downward in the spinning direction and in turn rotate upward along the axis of the cylinder when it reaches a certain position of the cone.

Finally, the water flow will get discharged through the outlet pipe. Under the influence of the inertial centrifugal force from the water flow and their own gravity, those sundries will drop into the cone refuse vessel at the bottom of the solids control system.

Separation Plant for Tunneling Projects

In fields of Tunneling Projects, Separation Plant is the more important technology of mud-water separation and matching with Tunnel Boring Machines. It is composed of the cyclone separation system and centrifugal separation system. Firstly, the first phase separation will be done through drilling fluid shale shaker; then the separated particles will be precisely treated by the hydrocyclone into particles with different sizes.

Secondly, The mud under pressure inflows into the cyclone separation system with high speed through the pipe and do gyratory motion in the inner wall of hydrocyclone. The coarse particles are thrown to the wall and move downward gradually by gravity and discharged from the bottom. Because of moving slowly, the fine particles is driven by the flow of liquid from the center and discharged from the overflow pipe.

Thirdly,The particle diameter of mud is very small after processing by cyclone system. So we need to add flocculant in mud. The flocculant and fine particles aggregated the larger particles. and then it sent to the centrifuges by pump. Centrifuges are key components to ensure that all water can be separated into dry soil. Part of bentonite processed by cyclone system can be discharged the mud pool. It will be continuing to use after mixing and saving the construction cost. The solid particles separated can can be shipped directly. The separated water of high purity can be used to modulate the new mud or discharged into the municipal storm sewer system directly.
